Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Moegamad Ryklief t/a Pigeon Pedigree Manager Pro ("we", "us"), the responsible party for Pigeon Pedigree Manager Pro, processes personal information. It is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (ECTA).
1. Who we are

2. Your pigeon data never leaves your computer
Your birds, pedigrees, photographs, loft details and settings are stored only in a local database on your own device. We do not upload, copy or have any access to that data. Backups you export are saved wherever you choose. Uninstalling the app or deleting its data folder removes that information from your device; we hold no copy.
3. What we process, and why
We only process the limited information needed to sell and run your licence:
- Your email address — captured by Payfast during checkout and stored by us, to deliver your licence key, send billing and renewal notices, and provide support.
- A one-way hashed device identifier (a "machine hash") — to bind your licence to your computers (up to 2) and to keep free trials honest. It is a hash; we cannot reverse it to identify your hardware.
- Your computer name, if your operating system provides one — stored only so you can recognise which device a licence slot belongs to.
- Licence and payment records — your licence key, plan, subscription status, paid-through dates and Payfast transaction references — to operate the licence and handle renewals, cancellations and disputes.
- A copy of the payment notification Payfast sends us, which may include your name and email, retained for reconciliation, accounting and dispute handling.
We do not collect analytics, usage tracking or telemetry, we do not run advertising, and we never sell your personal information.
4. Payment information
Card and banking details are entered on Payfast's secure, PCI-DSS-compliant payment pages. They are handled solely by Payfast — we never see, receive or store your card number.
5. Who we share information with
We use a small number of trusted operators (sub-processors) to run the service:
- Payfast (a division of Payfast (Pty) Ltd) (South Africa) — Payment processing and subscription billing.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (may process data outside South Africa) — Hosts the license server and its database.
- Resend (may process data outside South Africa) — Delivers license-key and billing emails (only if enabled).
Each processes your information only on our instructions. We do not otherwise disclose your information except where required by law.
6. Cross-border transfers
Because Cloudflare and (where used) Resend may process data outside South Africa, some information may be transferred abroad. We rely on reputable providers that offer an adequate level of protection, and by purchasing you consent to this transfer as contemplated by section 72 of POPIA.
7. How long we keep it
- Licence and activation records: for as long as your licence exists and a reasonable period afterwards for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
- Trial records: retained on an ongoing basis, keyed to the device hash, specifically to prevent the same computer from repeatedly restarting the free trial.
- Payment notifications: retained for the period required by South African tax and company law (generally five years).
8. How we protect it
All communication with the licence server uses HTTPS. Device identifiers are stored only as hashes, licence tokens are cryptographically signed, card data is handled solely by Payfast, and server secrets are never shipped inside the app.
9. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold, to have it corrected or deleted (subject to the retention obligations above), to object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email msaadiq64@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the regulator:

10. Children
The app is intended for adults managing their lofts and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of children under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will change and, for material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email.
